Description

Concealed zips, ideal for skirts and dresses

Concealed (or invisible) zips hide the zipper teeth on the underside of the fabric, leaving only a sleek seam visible when closed.

They provide a flawless, high-end finish for fitted garments like dresses, skirts, bridal wear and tailored trousers without disrupting the clothing's pattern or lines.

    concealed zips

i have never put in a concealed zip, but have instructions and saw an explanation on the Sewing Bee, so feel reasonably optomistic ! I bought all the haberdashery items at Fabricgodmother so that they might send the appropriate zip and weight for the fabric.

    poor result

Posted by Hilary on 15th Jan 2016

I sewed in my zip and now the back of my dress is contorted and horrid so I will take it out and replace it with a standard zip this evening.. I am a novice!!!! So i have much to learn about these zips.

FABRIC GODMOTHER: I am so sorry you had a bad time inserting this zip. Did you try using an invisible zipper foot? I find that these always give a much better result when using a concealed zip. Josie x
