Beautiful skirt, not that good pattern

Posted by Giuditta Amato on 11th Jul 2020

This skirt is beautiful. However, the pattern had some things about it which made me dislike it, and I will not be buying others from the same maker.
Firstly, you HAVE to trace it out, which is something I had never Seen before. I usually trace patterns out anyway; however I don’t have a sewing table or even a table big enough for it at the moment and the floor in our house isn’t suitable either. This was a little bit of a nuisance. I also felt like the explanations in the pattern were somewhat unclear. I had to completely improvise when it came to the bow and the waistline, which someone less experienced might have struggled to do. Same goes for the button area.
The product is really nice now that it’s finished, but again I have had to make more adjustments than an “easy” pattern should ask for as a complete beginner would definitely have struggled.

    Meh

The pattern is super cute, but it definitely runs small. Also, you HAVE to trace it out as parts overlap in the pattern, which if I had known I wouldn't have bought it - I don't have a sewing table anymore so while I usually trace all patterns anyway, I was looking for something that didn't force you to.

REPLY: I agree this can be frustrating but we do say in the description that this is the case. I hope you loved the finished project
