The Easy Skirt PDF sewing pattern is just that—it’s easy. Easy to sew, easy to style, and easy to wear. It’s a timeless wardrobe staple with a flowing silhouette, a comfortable elastic waistband, generous inseam pockets, and a deep hem. It’s the kind of piece you’ll reach for again and again.
This design was inspired by Jessica's summer 2024 trip to Nice, France, where the days were hot, and she was constantly on the move. Lots of walking, exploring markets, and popping into cafés. She wanted something that kept her cool and comfortable, but still looked effortlessly put together. It had to be versatile enough to transition seamlessly from day to night, whether Jessica was walking on the beach in sandals or dressing up for a fancy dinner out.
This BEGINNER FRIENDLY sewing pattern comes with detailed instructions and illustrations to make the construction process straightforward. You will learn a variety of techniques, such as how to sew an inseam pocket, how to sew a french seam, how to hem a skirt, and how to sew an elastic waistband.

Suitable Fabrics:
When selecting fabric for The Easy Skirt, you have plenty of options depending on the vibe you’re after. For a classic, everyday look, I recommend light to medium-weight woven fabrics with a stable weave, such as cotton poplin or broadcloth. These fabrics provide a structured yet comfortable feel, making the skirt easy to sew and wear.
For a more elevated, elegant version, consider silk or satin. These fabrics add beautiful movement and drape, giving the skirt a refined look that can be easily styled up or down for any occasion.
Please note: I do not recommend fabrics with any stretch or excessive give, as they can make hemming more challenging. Additionally, avoid very heavy fabrics that may create too much bulk at the gathered waistband.
