The Sunrise Skort Sewing Pattern is a modern take on a traditional skort. It features shorts hidden behind either a full wrap skirt with a tie on the side, or a half skirt that covers only the front of the shorts. The shorts have ease in the crotch and hips to help keep you cool on those hot summer days. If you're unfamiliar with the term ease, you can think of it like the space between your body and the garment.
This BEGINNER FRIENDLY sewing pattern is designed to help beginner sewists learn skills to become an intermediate sewist. You will learn how to sew an invisible zipper, how to sew darts, how to sew inseam pockets, and how to sew a facing.
Sizes:
0 - 34, which correlate to W 24", H 34" to W 54", H 65" respectively
Style options and notions:
This pattern has two closure options. For the shorts, there is an invisible zipper at the center front seam. Feel free to move the zipper to the side seam or center back seam if you prefer. The closure for the skirt will depend on if you're sewing View A or View B.
For View A, the skirt only covers the front of the shorts and has a button closure on the left front. View A One skirt panel with a button at the left front.
For View B, there are two skirt panels that cover the front and the back of the shorts and tie together at the left side seam. View B Two skirt panels with ties at the left side seam.
You will need an invisible zipper for both views, but you will only need a button for View A.

Suitable Fabrics:
This pattern is designed for a light weight fabric such as cotton poplin, linen, or silk; however, it's also possible to use a mid weight fabric. If you choose a mid weight fabric, consider design options that will help reduce bulk. For example, you could omit the pockets or sew the half skirt option instead of the full skirt.
