Inspired by a Dutch-style floral painting from the Liberty archive dating back to 1926, this breathtaking botanical takes cues from the technical aspects of textile design. Amongst a luscious profusion of tulips, roses, primroses, carnations, daffodils, and irises, visible grid marks can be distinguished, while vibrant polka dots serve as guides, corresponding to the separation of colours.
In celebration of 150 years of Liberty, ‘From the Studio’ for AW25 stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of the London design house. Paying homage to the dedicated artisanship that Liberty has been renowned for since the opening of its Regent Street flagship in 1875, this collection explores the creatives who have shaped the story so far. Divided into three distinct narratives – Craftsmanship, Collaboration, and Collectibles – ‘From the Studio’ unveils design sketches and archival studies, shedding light on Liberty ’s innovative artistic practice.
Liberty Fabrics Rossmore corduroy is a fine needlecord that is lightweight and soft to the touch, yet still has a bit of structure. It is versatile enough to create a beautiful blouse and substantial enough to make dresses, trousers, and skirts.
