Description
I really enjoyed the straightforward sew of this pattern, which I bought to help make a dupe of an expensive Scandi-brand skirt I tried a few weeks back!
I’m an intermediate-level sewist, and made view C - and fortunately didn’t have any issues with fabric like the other reviewer here. However the sizing - whilst seeming like a good fit - wasn’t wide ranging (I’m a 10 in ready-to-wear - but was a 14 in this pattern, meaning I think it only goes up to a size 14 RTW, which is a shame).
It is a beginner level project - it’s easy to fit. It would help to have done gathering before, and it’s probably not a first ever project because there are others out there with clearer instructions. But definitely one that is achievable for beginners. I actually did my first major pattern-hack - shaping it so that the yoke panel didn’t have a ruffle or gathering, and was plain skirt until the bottom ruffle panel. It’s a black cotton poplin and I think it’s going to be worn a lot when I need something easy to slip on in the summer.
Also thanks to FG for the special delivery option, made my little sewing mini-holiday go perfectly!

I am disappointed with this pattern. Not only are the fabric measurements inaccurate for the skirt I’ve made (1.5m fabric is certainly not enough), but the instructions are sparse and again seem inaccurate.
I’m relatively experienced with patterns but this one seems to be the most challenging I have come across in 10 years of dressmaking. It’s taken quite a bit of adapting to make a shorter than expected midi skirt!
Not a pattern in recommend for a beginner.
