For this pattern, you can use anything from quilting cotton to flannel, sherpa, pre-quilted fabric, and more. Our favorites are generally cottons or linens, between 3-7 oz per square yard. We strongly discourage making your bias binding from fabrics on the heavier side of that range, as it can make the construction quite tricky. Knit fabrics with a lot of stretch are not recommended.
