Viscose is a fibre that is derived from wood pulp, making it a natural fabric that is more breathable than cotton. It is also known as Rayon.

Please allow 5% shrinkage for this fabric as viscose has a tendency to shrink in the first wash.

Machine washable at 30 degrees, cool iron and hang out to dry straight after washing, please note when you wash viscose it can become stiff when wet but the softness and drape will return as it dries.

We now sell all our dressmaking fabric in HALF METRE increments. The price is per HALF METRE. Enter 2 in the quantity box to buy 1 metre etc. All orders will be cut in a continuous piece.

We try our best to give an accurate representation of our fabrics, however due to varying monitor settings the colours may differ slightly to the original fabric. If you want to be sure about the colour, weight or size of a design please order a sample.

    Quality!

Posted by Alison on 11th Feb 2022

Currently sewing Sw House 7 Tea dress with this beautiful print, destined for a family wedding. I am very wary of viscose - we dont get on well together. However, this is a good weighty crepe with superb drape and so far I have not spoiled it (entirely me, NOT the fabric which is remarkably stable) The print speaks for itself I have had my eye on this since it came out! Just beautiful. Happy to buy on the Samaritans funding day to support this excellent charity - made more poignant by the fact that I have also been touched by suicide.

    Very happy!

Posted by Alison on 27th Dec 2021

Had my eye on this for some time, bought sample of this and the new pima lawn version, liked the viscose better so bought it despite my fear of Viscose! However, it is a quality, fairly weighty fabric which did not dissolve into fraying when I washed it. Destined to be a dress for a wedding.
Glad to buy this on the Samaritan donation day. I have been touched by suicide in my family and support anything to help with this. My support and heartfelt best wishes for this.

Lovely fabric, I washed it before sewing, and there was no shrinkage. Beautiful to sew with and it looks great on the short sleeved shirt I'm making for my son.

I'm really pleased with this product and will look at Fabric Godmother's selection of fabrics for future projects.

    It's perfect

I think I can admit that I am now addicted to FG fabrics. This is soft, drapey, the print is lovely, the colors are great, and I'm so happy to finally have this print in my stash. It has just enough texture that I anticipate it will be a lovely sew.

Thank you so much for sending this fabulous fabric before lockdown. It’s the only thing I have had to smile about. Looking forward to making the Park Lane dress @ninalee.

    Lovely pattern

Material was very ‘pulled’ on the selvedges but this didn’t affect the making up of the material.

    Fabulous print

Yet to be sewn up, but this fabric pre-washed well and I've changed my planned pattern from a skirt into a flowing duster 'coat' to make the most of this amazing print.

    Wonderful

I bought this because of the tigers. I am not disappointed.
The colours are beautiful and well balanced. The tigers are bold and beautiful enough to be seen, but not dominate. The fabric is a good weight which provides a lovely drape.
