    Pleated denim

Posted by Betula on 7th Apr 2024

Bought 1 metre to use to make the collar and side panels of a biker jacket style wasitcoat - absolutely brilliant, looks fantastic. Sews well with heavy denim needle. Back and front panels are made from an old kilt, so the pleats in the denim run at 90 degrees to the pleated kilt back. Might sound a bit weird, but looks really sharp as the muted black of the denim matches the charcoal in the kilt. Onlu used about 1/3 of the width of the denim, so will be planning something else with the remainder.
