We now sell all our dressmaking fabric in HALF METRE increments. The price is per HALF METRE. Enter 2 in the quantity box to buy 1 metre etc. All orders will be cut in a continuous piece.

    Lovely fabric to work with, a true chambray with the colour variation coming from the weave. Ideal weight for the short pjs I’m currently making for myself, only variation to the pattern is I’m going to use grosgrain ribbon for the waist tie instead of the self fabric belt which prob wouldn’t slide very well through the waistband casing. Looking forward to wearing in the warmer months.

    Have optimistically made a summer blouse with this material. Very nice material to work with. Very happy with the finished product.

    Lovely soft fabric that I am in the process of making into the Granville shirt... so far it looks and feels great.

    This sewed up beautifully, is lovely and soft and easy to work with. The only downside is the fraying, but since I french seamed everything, this was fine- just be sure and trim those frays! Great colour- not washed yet, so can't comment on shrinkage. Would recommend for a shirtdress which is what I used it for.

    So happy with this material! As a newbie to the world of dressmaking and sewing, I made my first pair of Margot PJ's with it using Tilly Walnes pattern and it is perfect for summer or winter use as the cotton is super soft and is a good light-medium weight fabric to snuggle with in both seasons. I added some colourful top stitching to the hem and drawstring to make it more interesting too.

    After trying to find a good and reliable online fabric website, I am so happy I finally found Fabric Godmother as it stocks amazing quality fabric with great prices and has an excellent delivery service!
