ABOUT THE BLOUSE:

Live your best Parisian life with the ‘perfect’ blouse. C’est très Chic! The carnation blouse features a narrow collar, with an optional gathered frill. The blouse features an optional clever hem panel that allows you to create the perfect tucked in blouse, no more bulky scrunching or riding up. Choose between short sleeves with a frill at the hem or long sleeves which finish with a cuff and clever button insert.

SEWING LEVEL:

This pattern is designed for an intermediate sewer.

The carnation blouse pattern features a gathered frill inserted around the collar edge and continuing along the front button placket. The pattern also has a set in sleeve with two length options - view A is a short sleeve finished with a gathered frill, and view B has long sleeves finished with a cuff, featuring an insert to button the cuff closed.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:

This pattern has been drafted for light to medium weight woven fabrics: viscose, cotton lawn, cotton poplin, silk. Something with drape and not too much structure, that will gather easily into the frill.

HOW THE BLOUSE FITS:

The carnation blouse is loosely fitted through the body, while the hem panels on view B are more fitted to the waist and hips. The hem panel is designed to be tucked in, so the seam sits just below your natural waist. The blouse finishes at the high hip. The short sleeve length finishes above the elbow, while view B is a full length sleeve with cuff. We have included 2 cup sizes, a B cup and a D cup. Please see the 'what size should you make' in the instructions to see which is the right cup size for you. The version for a D cup includes a bust dart for a better fit.
