The Toaster Sweaters consist of two different high neck top designs to keep you toasty warm and stylish in the cooler months. They are both very simple to sew and perfect for sewists of all levels who want to try their hand at sewing knits. These sweaters are designed to be constructed using knit fabric with at least 20% stretch around the width of the body.

Fitted through the shoulders and looser towards the hem, it features a semi-high-neck that takes its inspiration from funnel and boat necks. It has mitered side vents with a hi-low hem that is 1” shorter in the front than the back. The front hem falls just below the high hip.

Fabrics: Mid to heavyweight stretch fabrics with at least 20% horizontal stretch

Version #1: Stretch sweatshirt fleece, stretch French terry, knit boiled wool, ponte, scuba

Version #2: Stretch sweatshirt fleece, stretch French terry, wool jersey, thick cotton interlock or jersey knit, stretch woven wool, ponte

    SewHouse Seven Toaster Sweater pattern

My first attempt at making a garment in a knitted fabric went brilliantly with this pattern.
It was easy to follow with good instructions. I have put off sewing knitted/stretchy items before but this has given me the confidence to try more. Great pattern for beginners.

I made the toaster sweater 1. I found the pattern really easy to follow and true to size. I didn't need to make any alterations. It was fun to sew and didn't take too long. Approx 2 hrs
