There are slits in the side seams. Andie is ankle-length.

RECOMMENDED MATERIALS

To sew this dress, choose knit fabrics with the following properties:

- soft, stretchy and very stretchy (with a stretch factor of at least 1.7), medium-weight

- the fiber content should include elastane or spandex and can also include natural fibers (wool, cotton), artificial fibers (viscose), blends (wool + polyester, cotton + polyester, cotton + elastane, etc.), and synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane)

- the following fabrics are recommended: soft sweater knits.

Attention! We recommend using only soft stretchy fabrics for this dress.

You can determine the stretch factor of your fabric yourself. Mark 10 cm (4") along the crosswise grain of the fabric, lay a ruler next to the marked section and stretch the fabric. Divide the measurement you get by 10.

The dress in the photos is made of soft sweater knit. The fabric is soft, opaque, not scratchy, has a good stretch and recovery, doesn't wrinkle. The fiber content is a blend of 10% viscose, 80% acrylic, and 10% spandex.

Fabric requirements:

1. Main fabric

IMPORTANT! When purchasing fabric, please account for shrinkage and buy 5% more than required.

2. Clear elastic, 0.8 cm (3/8") wide, for all sizes and heights – 0.3 m (3/8 yd).

3. Grosgrain ribbon (slit reinforcement) – 10 cm (4").

4. Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape, for all sizes and heights – 4 m (4 3/8 yd).

5. Lightweight knit interfacing, 140 cm (55") wide, for all sizes and heights – 0.3 m (3/8 yd).

6. Matching thread – 5 spools (1 spool for the sewing machine + 4 spools for the overlocker).

7. Four set-in snaps, 1.2 cm (1/2") in diameter.

Equipment:

- sewing machine for construction

- overlocker for construction and finishing raw edges. It can be replaced with a stretch overlock stitch or a zigzag stitch on the sewing machine (overlock or zigzag stitch width 2–3 mm, stitch length 2.5 mm)

- coverstitch or coverlock machine for finishing the garment hem and sleeve hems. It can be replaced with a twin needle on a regular sewing machine that can do a zigzag stitch.

- hand press tool with a set of molds for installing snaps (optional)

- edgestitch foot for the sewing machine (optional).

Important! We recommend using specialty needles when working with knit fabrics (for example, STRETCH, SUPER STRETCH, JERSEY, etc.). These are ballpoint needles, they part the threads of the fabric you are stitching rather than piercing them.
