Description

Etoile is the perfect little summer dress, with a simple yet sophisticated cut recently updated for an even more flattering silhouette. It defines the figure with breast darts and waist darts at the front and back, and comes with 3 sleeve options: simple short sleeves (view A), slightly puffed short sleeves tied with a narrow ribbon (view B), or with a wide ribbon (view C). Depending on your body shape, you can choose to reduce or eliminate the waist darts. Bust adjustments are also very easy to perform thanks to the classic bust dart. You can also very easily modify the length to make it into a midi dress using the lengthen/shorten line.

  • Format: layered A0, A4 and US letter PDF (one layer per size).
  • Pattern pieces never overlap.
  • A 5/8” (1.5cm) seam allowance is included.
  • A fully illustrated, 27 pages booklet is provided with the pattern, with highly detailed illustrations.
  • This pattern and its instructions are in English.
  • Sizing, fabric choice, notions: see below.

Fabric choice:

Woven fabrics such as poplin, crepe, twill, satin… in cotton, linen, silk, viscose, tencel, cupro, polyester… Preferably in light to medium weight (a heavy linen can be perfectly suitable, but beware of thick fabrics like corduroy that would reduce the built-in ease).

Notions:

1.09 yard (1 meter) of interfacing for facings. 11 small buttons (7/16’’ or 11mm), matching thread for your fabric, a machine needle matching your fabric type, a marking pen, scissors and pins.

Sizing:

Required fabric length:

The amount of fabric required is calculated with a small safety margin of 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15cm). Increase quantity for pattern matching if your fabric has a pattern on it.
